SYNOPSIS

God: The Sitcom chronicles the relationship between Old Testament God and a series of Old Testament characters, including Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, Noah, Abraham, Lot, Jonah, Elijah, Job and Moses.

God, old and with a long, white beard, spends most of his time reclining in a four-poster bed perched on a cloud, sipping champagne and eating fruit. Bored and capricious, his relationship with man is conducted mainly over the telephone. When God gets on the phone, all the characters from Adam to Job, know they are in trouble and that, despite their best efforts of fawning appeasement, dreadful things will happen to them.

After God has finished with them, each is left a whimpering, quivering mess.

God: The Sitcom is based scrupulously on the Old Testament record and, despite its surface naivety, carries a sophisticated and challenging theological sub-theme which is, however, never allowed to get in the way of the basic comedy of events.
