Charles Arrowby, aging theatrical legend, is retiring to the Cornish coast to write his memoirs. A chance meeting between him and Hartley, his first love, causes him to face his demons head on. Charles kidnaps the elderly Hartley in an attempt to make her love him once again with disastrous and tragic consequences.
